Football for Children

The Football Development Section provides the opportunity for children aged 3 through to 12 to be involved in Football in a safe controlled environment.

The Mini Kickers Programme allows children aged between 3 and 5 years old to make the start on the SFA Player Pathway. This programme teaches children basic movement skills and balls skills.

The Fun Fours Programme provides top quality coaching aimed at children aged between 5 and 12 years old to develop technique in small sided game situations. This programme has been designed to replicate experiences from the school playground and street football to help create the next James McFadden.

Football in the Community classes provide opportunities for children aged 3 to 14 years old to improve their core skills such as passing, dribbling and shooting. All of these classes are held at Secondary Schools across the city.

The Football Development Section acknowledges that Goalkeeping is a specialised position and deserves appropriate training. The Goalkeeping clinic provides the opportunity for children between 8 and 16 years old to develop skills such as shot stopping, handling, positioning and shape.
