The Glasgow Schools programme in association with John Lewis includes introduction to the Fun5z game through the following programmes:
Opportunity to have a netball coach to deliver a 6 week programme to the school, introducing the sport and delivering a local festival for all schools involved with the programme.
In addition to the local festivals, city wide programme will be delivered to provide festival opportunities for all schools. This allows participants to show case their skills and continue to develop in the sport
Skill Zone Personal Best
Designed to challenge the player to compete against themselves and achieve their personal best. Skill sessions are set to test the fundamental skills the player has developed and continue to try and improve their best each time they perform at the skill zone.
In-service training - Getting started awards
This course is tailored to assist with the delivery of Netball within the Primary PE curriculum through developing movement principles.
The course centres on the new 5-a-side branch of the game – FUN 5z and skill acquisition through the game rather than simply playing to win. All those completing the Getting Started Award will be given the opportunity to purchase the supporting Toolkit – The Teachers Toolkit contains 10 Curriculum for Excellence based Lesson plans for each stage of the school.
