The Venue

Geoff Shaw Community Centre is managed by Glasgow Life on behalf of Glasgow City Council, as a resource for the local community.  It was originally built in 1969.

Geoff Shaw Community Centre can be used for a variety of community, social and commercial activities, including but not restricted to meetings, small conferences, classes, clubs, arts and crafts, sports activities, dance classes, birthday parties, engagement parties, christening/communion receptions, slimming clubs and martial arts classes.  To make a booking enquiry, please call us on 0141 647 0969.

The centre has a 'Books to Go Area', which is ideal for parents and carers to bring their children along to relax, read a book and enjoy a snack or a coffee.

Experienced staff are always on hand to assist with any special requirements.

Please note that in accordance with Government Policy, smoking is not permitted in Geoff Shaw Community Centre or our surrounding grounds.

Minimum Let duration is 1 hour.  Lets for part of an hour will be charged at the hourly rate.  Please note that all rooms are wheelchair accessible.

Geoff Shaw Community Centre has no in house catering or kitchen provision.  However, they do have a hot and cold drinks vending machine.


Parking and Public Transport

There is a large free car park at Geoff Shaw Community Centre, providing off-street parking.  There is also additional on-street parking in the immediate area. 

Prospecthill Road and Curtis Avenue are both nearby and offer good public transport links, making the centre easily accessible by bus.  Both Rutherglen and Kings Park train stations are approximately a 15 minute walk from the community centre.
