Riverside Museum

Riverside Museum, Scotland’s Museum of Transport and Travel and winner of the prestigious European Museum of Year award 2013 is the new home for Glasgow’s world-class Transport and Technology Collection.

The Zaha Hadid-designed building is a masterpiece of architecture and a perfect complement to the stunning and exciting displays within. This remarkable new attraction also provides a unique and beautiful setting for a range of private and corporate events such as private dinners, cocktail receptions, weddings or corporate galas, filming and photography, as well as meetings, seminars, work shops and trade shows. The Museum’s magnificent collection can also be enjoyed exclusively by guests attending a private evening event.

Riverside Museum's collection area can accommodate up to 1000 guests for an ‘access all areas’ standing reception which can be further enhanced by an expert-led guided tour of the collection.

The Main Street is a magnificently atmospheric recreation of a typical Glasgow street spanning the years between 1895 and 1930. The setting is enhanced by authentic period shopfronts and accessible interiors. A subway station and typical vehicles of the period are also situated within the Main Street area. This is a superb location with a real difference for a standing reception for up to 120 guests.

Events Square, which lies adjacent to the main entrance of the museum is one of the most spacious outdoor event areas in Glasgow (second only to George Square). It is a superbly landscaped outdoor area capable of hosting a plethora of events ranging from music concerts for up to 10,000 people, to motor shows, rallies, trades shows, fashion shows, award ceremonies and sporting events such as volleyball and skateboarding and the recent Rat Race where participants kayaked, climbed, crawled and scrambled their way back to Riverside as part of the epic event. The space offers a great platform for companies to showcase and demonstrate their latest products to the public.

The Café overlooks the River Clyde and offers visitors excellent views across the river and of The Tall Ship. The Café can comfortably accommodate up to 100 guests for a standing reception and up to 80 people seated for a Riverside dining experience. It is also enhanced by an attractive terraced patio directly outside, which can be used by guests attending an event within the Café area.

The Boardroom with superb views over the Rivers Clyde and Kelvin, offers a very attractive setting for private meetings and presentations attended by up to 35 guests in a  theatre-style room layout or 20 in a boardroom arrangement.

The Education Suite with superb river views, offers a very flexible space excellent for meetings, workshops or seminars as it can be easily partitioned providing clients with two separate areas or one larger meeting room for up to 60 guests.

The Tall Ship is berthed on the Clyde immediately adjacent to Riverside Museum  and is a further option for events such as corporate functions or wedding receptions at Riverside. This unique venue can comfortably host up to 200 guests for a drinks reception or 150 for a more formal, seated dinner. Functions on The Tall Ship can be held below deck or (weather permitting) on the main deck of the vessel.
