Where are Glasgow Life Wedding Venues located?
The Glasgow Royal Concert Hall is situated at the north end of Glasgow's main thoroughfare the Hall is located in the heart of the city at the very top of Buchanan Street, directly opposite the Buchanan Street Bus Station and within walking distance of Queen Street and Central Stations and Buchanan Street Underground.
City Halls and the Old Fruitmarket are located near Glasgow Cross, one block west of High Street and two blocks east of George Square in the heart of Glasgow's cultural quarter, the Merchant City.

The Mitchell is on North Street overlooking the M8 motorway on Charing Cross.
St Mungo’s Museum of Religious Life and Art is located on Castle Street, a short walk from Buchanan Street and Argyle Street. It is opposite Provand's Lordship and adjacent to Glasgow Cathedral

Are Glasgow Life Wedding Venues licensed to carry out civil wedding ceremonies?
Yes - all of our venues are licensed by Glasgow City Council to carry out civil marriages.

Are Glasgow Life’s Wedding Venues licensed to carry out civil partnership registrations?
Yes - all our venues are licensed by Glasgow City Council to carry out civil partnership registrations.

Can we have a religious wedding ceremony at Glasgow Life’s Wedding Venues?
Yes - religious wedding ceremonies can also take place in all our venues should you wish to have a ceremony conducted by your chosen religious celebrant.

How many people can you accommodate?
We can accommodate wedding celebrations for between 40 and 360 guests. For a detailed breakdown of maximum and minimum capacities for each room, please see the Our Wedding Venues page


How much will it cost to have our wedding at Glasgow Life Wedding Venues?
If you are having your wedding ceremony, dinner and evening reception with us, the room hire fee is waived, and all you will pay is the cost of the catering. To see details of the catering charges, please see our Wedding Packages page.

If you are having just your wedding ceremony or evening reception, then there is a flat rate for room hire.


Do Glasgow Life Wedding Venues insist on providing the catering for our wedding breakfast?
Yes. We have an excellent team in the kitchens at both our venues, led by Head Chef Billy Petrie at the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall, and Head Chef Ross Welch at City Halls and Old Fruitmarket, who will provide you and your guests with a delicious meal on your big day.


Can we see the menus and sample the food in advance?
Yes. You can view the menus on our Wedding Menus page right now. And if you decide to book your wedding dinner with us, we offer a complimentary menu tasting with your Wedding Consultant in advance of your wedding day.


Can Glasgow Life Wedding Venues provide us with a cake stand and knife?
Yes. We provide a silver cake stand and knife for use on your wedding day as standard.


What time does Glasgow Life Wedding Venues alcohol license cover us until?
All our bars are licensed until 1am.


Can we bring our own Champagne or wine to be served?
We have a number of drinks packages and a comprehensive wine list to suit varying styles and budgets, however if you wish to bring in your own we charge a corkage fee. Please ask your wedding coordinator for more details. We do not charge corkage on miniatures that are provided as favours.

Are there separate rooms provided for the wedding ceremony, wedding dinner and evening reception?
This entirely depends on the numbers of guest you have and the venues you are using. In some cases it may be appropriate to change rooms during the course of the day, in other cases it may be better to move into a bar area for a short time, whilst the set-up of the room is "turned around". We have very experienced staff who can do this very quickly.

Is there a room available for the use of the bridal party on the day?
Yes, a secure dressing room can be made available for a changing area, and to store any wedding presents on the day.


Are there quieter areas for older wedding guests to go to if they fancy a break from the noise of a band/DJ?
Yes, all our venues can have separate bar areas away from the main reception area available. You can check which ones are available for your chosen room with your Wedding Co-ordinator.


Do Glasgow Life Wedding Venues have a Public Address (PA) system that can be used for speeches?
Yes. And we'll have our very own expert sound technicians on hand to operate it so that there's no nasty feedback to spoil the Best Man's big moment!


What photographic locations are there at Glasgow Life Wedding Venues?
All of our venues have unique settings that will provide stunning photographs from The Mitchell's marble staircase, St Mungo’s Japanese Zen Garden to The Glasgow Royal Concert Hall’s large grand staircases for suitable for large group photos.

If you are using the Concert Hall’s Green Room, you have the backdrop of the stunning views down Buchanan Street, and there are a number of green spaces nearby to the City Halls and Old Fruitmarket. Your Wedding Consultant will be able to show you the possible photo locations during your visit to the venue.

Can our photographer/videographer visit Glasgow Life Wedding Venues  beforehand to get an idea of potential photo locations?
Yes. Your photographer/videographer can arrange a suitable time for a venue visit directly with your Wedding Consultant.

Do Glasgow Life Wedding Venues  allow confetti to be thrown at the venue?
Yes, outside the venues only.

Do Glasgow Life Wedding Venues  allow candles to be lit during the ceremony and in the reception room?
This depends on the room that is being used. The City Halls Recital Room and Old Fruitmarket allow candles both during the ceremony and the reception. The Strathclyde Suite and the Green Room do not allow candles during either the ceremony nor the reception.

How many car-parking spaces are available?
Although we do not have our own car parking facilities on site, each venue is served by two car parks close by. At The Glasgow Royal Concert Hall there is the NCP Concert Square, and Buchanan Galleries Car Park. At City Halls and Old Fruitmarket there is the NCP Glasshouse on Glassford Street, and Q Park on Albion Street. Please speak to your Wedding Consultant to find out more about special parking rates for your wedding guests.
The Mitchell has an NCP car park five minutes walk away on the other side of the motorway and there are pay and display parking places across the road from St Mungo’s Museum.
