England vs Republic of Ireland

Potential medal contenders England made their intentions clear as they swept the floor with the Republic of Ireland winning 108-9.

The experience of the England squad was evident tonight as they breezed past the Republic of Ireland with a confident performance all round. From the starting whistle they were relentless in their attacking of the ball and left no stone unturned in their quest for goals.

"We're aiming for a medal" stated England coach Colette Thomson "they're all up for grabs".

Every ball was challenged down the court and the team worked well together to pressure the pass, often resulting in a 3 second call by the umpires.
The second quarter was particularly successful for England as unfortunately Ireland failed to score a single goal.

All 12 of the England squad took to the court, but this didn't affect the flow of goals. At 95%,  Alice Travis was the second most accurate shooter of the day, contributing to over a quarter of the teams total.

England now take pole position in group D in the concluding match of day 2.
