Fiji v Australia

A phenomenal performance by Fiji held giants Australia at bay in their closest game yet.

Fiji put on a performance to be proud of against the reigning champions, resulting in a muted 71-32 win for Australia.

Fearless GK Raijieli Daveua held the team together, with her extraordinary elevation resulting in astounding interceptions against the 6 ft 5 shooter Kristina Brice.  All the Fijians stepped up to the mark to deliver the performance of their lives, and even Australia's Head coach Carol Byers was impressed.

"They played really well. They got some intercepts and shot well and made us work really hard tonight."

The Fiji supporters sang their approval throughout the game from the stands, and Coach Unaisi Rokoura couldn't be happier.

"I'm over the moon for these players. We played from the first quarter right to the end."

"I'll let them have this night for themselves- they deserve it."
