Malta v Trinidad Tobago

ENERGISED TRINIDAD KEEP TOP EIGHT HOPES ALIVE

Trinidad & Tobago look set to beat their 10th place position from the last Youth Championship with a victory of 69-32 over Malta.

It was an energetic display from Trinidad & Tobago as they played the ball around the court. They had a strong first quarter with an impressive scoring spree to gain a 16-6 lead by the first break.

And it continued from there. Trinidad & Tobago went from strength to strength through the remaining three quarters, but coach Grace Parkinson's-Griffith still wasn't satisfied.

"I still feel I can get some more from them. I'm looking to be positive- anywhere like 4th, 5th or 6th I'm challenging."

The determined Maltese kept pushing, but today wasn't to be their day.

Head coach Helga Turban was still pleased with their performance.

"They started off really well. I'm very proud of them- I gave them a target and they were well ahead of it. Next time we're going to get stronger- every time is stronger!"
