TIPS AND TURNOVERS GALORE AS BARBADOS COME OFF BEST
In the likely battle for a top 8 position Singapore failed to deliver and were beaten 67-38 by the Bajans.
In a closely fought match it was end to end action as both teams pulled off stunning interceptions.
Barbados put good pressure on Singapore's centre pass, restricting their options and often gaining possession. They anticipated the intercept well and were rewarded by their shooter's accuracy.
"I thought they played very well, especially against a tough team" Barbados Head Coach Sandra Bruce-Small said, " but we need to do the basics better and focus on sticking to the game plan."
Singapore responded with a multitude of tips throughout the court, especially in the Bajans attacking circle where the ball was hotly contested. They managed to hold Barbados at bay for the majority of the match, ending the 3rd quarter only 12 goals down at 31-43.
But it was the final quarter where Barbados really pulled away.
Head Coach, Joanne Kyra Loo, was proud of the way her girls played.
"It was a really tough match but I felt up until the third quarter we gave them a run for their money."
"We need to get some rest tonight, but go for the win tomorrow against Ireland."
