Israel v Namibia

NAMIBIA BEAT ISRAEL BUT COACH COULD BE HAPPIER

Both Israel and Namibia played a game they were less than happy with, but Namibia recorded the win 98 goals to 9.

Pool A was a difficult group to be in but both coaches said their teams played their best netball earlier in the tournament.

Namibia's coach Edward Pienaar was again unhappy with his team's performance.

"Actually I'm not pleased. There was a lack of discipline. Basic handling, not coming to fetch the ball, waiting, a lack of discipline."

At least Pienaar's team did well in the shooting circle, with Jaumbuaije Zauana converting 90% of attempts on goal and Juane Jansen van Vuuren 83%, whereas Israel's combined effort of 43% will be a statistic they will look to improve dramatically going forward.

Israel were managing a total of five injuries which put pressure on the rest of the team, but coach Jodi Carreira is confident they will bounce back. "There is still plenty of time to recover and improve."

Israel now move into the round robin phase to play off for 17th-20th place, whilst Namibia face the Singaporeans in the bid to excel towards 9th place.
