Israel v Malta

Malta finally bagged themselves a win in the first game of the 17th-20th Round Robbin, defeating Israel 69-28.

Malta made a great start, but Israel were hot on their heels. Quarter one was Israel's best ever of the tournament as they scored a record 11 goals, finishing 16-11 in Malta's favour.

As Malta began to pull away it didn't deter the spirited Israelis, as shooting sisters Chaya and Nomi Komar were fearless in putting up shots from anywhere in the circle, resulting in sinking some crowd pleasing goals.

"They came out fighting- they really wanted to prove something." Said Israeli Team Manager Tal Segev, "Now the tournament is actually starting I think they're going to do really well."

Malta are also expecting a lot from this section of the tournament, with coaching staff member Adele Muscat adding, "I think we have a good opportunity to do well and gain the best possible position in this group."
