Come Den With Me Competition

Come Den With Me competition

To celebrate National Playday 2012 on 1st August, Young Glasgow are asking you and your family to put your creativity to the test and build a den!

Enter our ‘Come Den With Me’ competition by building a den out of leaves, wood, old sheets, cardboard, string - anything you can get your hands (with permission of course!) and uploading it through our Come Den With Me Facebook App.  All entries will feature on our Parent Zone Facebook page and the winner will be decided by public vote – so the more eye catching and imaginative your den is the more chance you have of getting to the top spot!

Download our den building guide here to get you started.

The closing date for entries is Sunday 5th August.  Voting will open on Monday 6th and the winner will receive £100 shopping vouchers to buy loads of outdoor clothes and toys!  A runner up prize of £50 shopping vouchers will be given as second prize.

Why celebrate play?

Did you know there are 16 different types of play?  These include being sociable, creative and physically active.  Experts (and young people) all agree that playing outdoors is very good for health, for happiness, for making friends and most importantly having fun!

Working together across Glasgow

Glasgow Life is working with local groups to ensure there is a programme of outdoor play activities right across the city to mark the 25th National Play Day on 1st August.

The Jeely Play Zone, PEEK (Possibilities East End Kids) and Playbusters received investment from Inspiring Scotland through their Go2Play fund. This money has been put towards increasing the number of play rangers at each club and therefore facilitate more outdoor play for children. The Go2Play fund is being delivered by Inspiring Scotland in partnership with the Scottish Government.
