National Concessionary Travel Scheme*
The scheme entitles young people aged 16 to 18 with a GYSC/National Entitlement Card*, to the following discount:
On buses, 33% off the adult single fare (does not apply to already-discounted fares).
A free Scottish Young Person's Rail Card which allows you to buy rail tickets at 50% off. (SEE IMPORTANT NOTE BELOW)
*You must have the National Entitlement Card to be eligible for discounted travel. All Glasgow NEC - Young Scot cards have 16 digits and start with 6337 4020. If you have a card which has a 10 digit number you will need to apply for an NEC card.
ATTENTION 16-18’s: RENEWAL OF RAIL PASS*
If you’re aged 16-18 and
have a rail voucher entitling you to 50% off travel, did you know that
this will need to be renewed each year? If you didn’t, don’t worry – we
can get you another! All you need to do is contact our office by phone
on 0141 276 0727 or email youngscot@glasgowlife.org.uk approximately 3 weeks before your card expires and we’ll order you a new one!
