Go for Gold and get something different for your CV at the same time

The Award is a challenging programme of activities open to all young people from the ages of 14 - 25 years which help young people learn new skills, help others, experience adventure and gives a great sense of achievement

There area three levels of the Award - Bronze, Silver and Gold - with four sections to achieve at each Award of Physical Recreation, Skill, Service to the Community and Expedition.

Activities are done at the local youth group, school or voluntary organisation either as a member of a group or as an individual with experience adult support to assist.

The Award is about taking part and trying activities - every young person who undertakes the Award has the ability to succeed as it is not an exam and they cannot fail!

Activities vary and have included dance, music, football, swimming, badminton, sign language, first aid, sponsored events, fundraising and recent expeditions to Canada and Africa!

Taking part in the activities is recorded and is soon recognised by the presentation of either a section certificate or the Award itself which is recognised by employers and organisations for what it says about the person who has achieved it.

Glasgow City Council is licensed to operate the Award and provides activities in a large number of schools, universities, youth groups, voluntary organisations and specialised groups including young offenders and social work services projects.
