Improvement works

Upgrade Works – Phase 1

A budget of £2.4m was awarded to Netherton Community Centre from the Community Asset Fund to undertake an extensive refurbishment of Netherton Community Centre. The works are focussed in the Community Centre building which also includes Gatehouse, Buddies Clubs & Services and a Community Café.

The refurbishment works commenced on December 2018 and include the following:

• New roof, external cladding and replacement of windows
• Complete re-decoration of interior spaces including new floor and ceiling finishes and redecoration of walls
• New stage lighting and sound system in the main hall
• Full re-wire including replacement of main switchgear and distribution boards
• Comprehensive upgrade of the heating and water distribution system
• Upgrade of intruder alarm system
• Upgrade of Building Management System
• Upgrade of external lighting around the Community Centre

This work is aiming for completion in January 2020
