A Glasgow Spectacular (or the experience being an experience like the experience you just had), 2018

For Festival 2018 Joanne Tatham and Tom O’Sullivan have been commissioned to create a large-scale gateway structure into George Square and to design the festival’s logo and brand. Their commission adopts familiar or amusing motifs, and makes specific reference to the context of Glasgow and the European Championships. Tatham and O’Sullivan have worked in collaboration for over 20 years and their artworks often consider the ways in which art may be expected to perform in public.
