Unfortunately this show has been cancelled due to the ongoing impacts of the global pandemic.

The present band based in Shetland was formed 2015. Prior to the formation of the band Peter was lead accordionist and musical director for 14 years with the Shetland dance band “Da Fustra”. 

The present line up consists of: 

Peter Wood - Accordion 

Graham Jamieson - Drums 

Andy Kain - Fiddle 

Arthur Nicholson - Guitar

The band plays for various events across the islands from Up Helly Aa celebrations to dances and weddings. The band in recent years years has also been asked to play at occasions on mainland Scotland and become regulars at the Shetland and Orkney folk festivals. Stepping Up is the latest of the bands three recordings available on CD and digital download. 

The band won best CD of the year award in 2015 from the National Association of Accordion and Fiddle Clubs, the following year 2016 the band was a nominee in the Scottish dance band of the year category at the MG Alba Trad awards. 

Peter was also a nominee in the 2021 Trad awards in the Musician of the Year category. 

The band motto is “Keep Folks Feet Moving
