Irish trio cua’s self-styled ‘Atlantean’ music, a potently distinctive alloy of Celtic, Americana, jazz, Balkan and psych-folk influences, is inspired by the history, landscape and peoples of the Atlantic areas. Featuring luminous yet earthy three-part vocals in powerful original songs, arrayed with fiddle, bouzouki, guitars and percussion, 2017’s debut album Songs of the Hollow further boosted their fast-growing fanbase.

Stunning harmonies are also the stock-in-trade of Laura-Beth Salter and Jenn Butterworth - both mainstays of Glasgow’s vibrantly fertile folk scene - together with brilliantly quicksilver mandolin/guitar interplay. Alongside their roles in Kinnaris Quintet, The Shee and Songs of Separation, their delectable duo repertoire includes Celtic, Americana and Scandinavian material.
