Within Irish folk music’s largely rural history, Dublin has been a prolific human and stylistic melting-pot, as well as a fertile source of its own traditions and lore, not least through its storied session scene. Currently one of the city’s most fêted musical sons, Daoirí Farrell celebrates its musical past and present in richly convivial company, including fellow singers Declan O’Rourke and Caoimhe Hogarty. Acclaimed fraternal duo Ye Vagabonds and spellbinding acappella quartet Landless also join in the singaround, while a crack instrumental team features Kevin Glackin (fiddle), Robbie Walsh (bodhran), Paddy Kiernan (banjo), and Sean Potts (uilleann pipes).
