Glasgow historian, Bill Black presents his illustrated findings on the early origins of world-famous Buchanan Street, sometimes known as "Glasgow's Regent Street".
From the end of the 18th Century this famous north - south thoroughfare gradually developed to provide a wide range of smaller shops and businesses until the 1850s when the arrival of the large department stores changed its character.
