An evening to explore the tradition of handloom weaving in Scotland and consider the role of artisan weavers in the 1820 Radical War. Speakers discuss connections between radicalism theory and weavers, and share Scots words and vocabulary associated with the craft. Films from the Moving Image Archive are being screened during the event, and live singing accompanies a demonstration of hand weaving on a modern loom. The evening is in partnership with Scottish Language Dictionaries and Coorie Creative CIC.
