To mark the 200th anniversary of the 1820 Radical Rising, also known as the Scottish Insurrection, this tour will look at what life was like for handloom weavers in the early 1800s, through some of the items that they would have used in their daily working and domestic life. We will also uncover some of the long legacy of the weavers’ political and social activism.
