Happy Birthday Toshie!

Join us to celebrate Charles Rennie Mackintosh's 150th birthday with a giant birthday party!  Fun for all, including families, adults and young people and its totally free! Think music, dancing, street food, performance and hands-on activity!

Expect good food, music, performance, and cool hands-on designer led activities for grown-ups and children! There will also be Mini Manoeuvres and Mischief La-Bas for some interactive performances. 

Local designer/makers, including the Ok No Studio, Alice Dansey-Wright and the Squid Ink studio will lead cool hands-on workshops, encouraging adults and young people to learn some excellent design skills and to create something unique and something to be proud of. Meanwhile kids can get creative at the fab fun Charles Rennie Mackintosh inspired making stations which will be dotted throughout the venue. Think masks, moustaches, playground toys, and party hats. There will be face painters onsite too should you want to really get down with the celebrations!

Mini Manoeuvres, Glasgow’s original club for kids and parents will  be upstairs in the venue, with cool club DJs spinning all the cool tunes for kids (and their guardians!) to show off their best moves to. Downstairs in the drill hall we will have a selection of vintage tunes provided courtesy of the sensational  and celebrated gramophone DJ Lord Holyrude. We will be encouraging everyone to make some noise and join us in a raucous Happy Birthday sing-along, complete with giant artist created birthday cake!
