An annual summer highlight for thousands of Celtic music fans, the Hebridean Celtic Festival transplants that glow to Glasgow’s winter with this specially-curated programme of contemporary Lewis talent. Rated by the Herald as “one of the country’s truly great pop songwriters,” Willie Campbell helms his current collective The Tumbling Souls, whose heady blend of vintage Americana, classic pop and Scottish folk puts a dynamic new spin on wild West music. Miss Irenie Rose’s lilting voice and winsome songcraft are strikingly catalysed by multi-layered loop-pedal effects, while ex-Mànran and current Skipinnish vocalist Norrie MacIver has been hailed by Runrig’s Calum MacDonald as “the Gaelic cross-over voice of his generation”.
