Hunter, McMustard & Mellow Party are a lowlander alternative folk band with influences as varied as Flatt and Scruggs, The Mighty Boosh, Robert Burns, The Proclaimers, Simon & Garfunkel and the Humble Bums.
'If It Gets You Where You're Going' was BBC Radio Scotland's single of the week. Follow-up single 'Stand In The Moment' led to the band being named Artist of the Week with The Scotsman/ Scotland on Sunday and Number 1 in the iTunes Singer-Songwriter chart.
'Go On Yourself', a collaboration with Dumfries Community Choir, reached Number 42 in the Official UK Single Charts in June 2024 and was single of the week on BBC Radio Scotland.
Dumfries Community Choir was established in 2011 and has a 90-strong membership. Over the years, they’ve played Edinburgh Castle, the Wickerman and Eden Festivals, and the Big Burns Supper. They even brought the Olympic Torch to Dumfries & Galloway.
