To celebrate International Day of Disabled Persons 2019 we will be hosting a day of dance, song and heritage at Kelvin Hall, including a special sensory session for young people.

The day includes:

Sporting Memories Screenings

Head to the National Library of Scotland’s Moving Image Archive to see footage of amazing sporting achievements through the years. Using the rich history and heritage of sport, Sporting Memories sessions are open to anyone who enjoys reminiscing about their experiences of watching or playing it.  Join us to take a trip down memory lane with our memorabilia, games, quizzes and footage of past sporting events in the National Library!

Walking Football 

The beautiful game at a slower pace!

Table Tennis 

Table tennis for all abilities.

Sign and Sing Choir 

Visit the National Library of Scotland’s Moving Image Archive for a sign and sing choir performance.

Time to Dance 

Scottish Ballet host a taster session of its dementia friendly dance class. Glasgow Museums join in at 11am with an object handling kit.

All Abilities Tea Dance Taster 

All are welcome for this instructor led dance class. 

12 – 1pm

Tea Dance 

Dance to your favourite old songs in this instructor led dance class for all abilities.

The accessible toilet is located off the main corridor. There is changing space.

Guide and assistance dogs are welcome.

Hearing loop

There is a fixed loop hearing assistance system. 

If you use British Sign Language, you can watch our  British Sign Language introduction to Kelvin Hall.

There is wheelchair and pram access to all public areas using the lifts and there are free wheelchairs available to hire at reception.

The car park on Bunhouse Road is managed by City Parking. Charges are as follows:

Mon-Sun 8am-6pm

  • 1 hour £1.60
  • 2 hours £3.20
  • 3 hours £4.80
  • 4 hours £6.40
  • 5 hours £8.00
  • 10 hours £10.00

Mon-Sun 6pm-8am, £2 flat rate.

First Bus services 2, 3 and 77 all stop outside the museum.

Kelvin Hall is situated on Argyle Street, around 6 minutes from the M8.
