Bestselling author Ian Rankin regularly consults with the police and draws inspiration from real life cases.  In this unique event Ian will discuss his new John Rebus thriller, In a House of Lies, and explore the boundaries between fact and fiction.  Ian will be joined by Karen Campbell, ex CID officer and author of This is Where I Am,  James Fraser, Research Professor in Forensic Science at the University of Strathclyde, and DCI Mark Bell from the Major Investigations Team, Police Scotland.  The event will be hosted by Newsnight presenter Kirsty Wark.

This is a fascinating opportunity to look behind the scenes with one of the world’s leading crime writers and discover what really happens in a murder investigation.

Copies of "In a House of Lies" will be on sale on the night. If you would like to receive a copy of the book ahead of the event, you can pre-order a copy for half price here: https://www.waterstones.com/book/in-a-house-of-lies/ian-rankin/9781409176886
