Come along to hear Costa Award Winning author Jess Kidd speak about her new novel which is a literary mystery set in Victorian London that captures our fascination with the curious and unusual.

 

London, 1863. Bridie Devine, the finest female detective of her age, is taking on her toughest case yet. Reeling from her last job and with her reputation in tatters, a remarkable puzzle has come her way. Christabel Berwick has been kidnapped. But Christabel is no ordinary child. She is not supposed to exist.

 

Jess is also author of the BBC Radio 2 Book Club picks Himself and The Hoarder.

Designed by Glasgow School of Art Students in the 1920’s, the twenty-one foot by seven foot mural for Langside Library was entitled ‘Queen Mary at the Battle of Langside’ and was official handed over to the Corporation of the City of Glasgow on the 6th January 1920.
