By far the world’s leading exponent of his native Basque music, Kepa Junkera combines phenomenal mastery on trikitixa, the Basque diatonic accordion, with an inveterate collaborative appetite that’s seen him working with literally hundreds of musicians, from dozens of countries, during his 30-year career. A uniquely compelling, frequently astounding performer, he’s a living embodiment of music as a universal language.

In a bold departure from her three previous solo albums, which featured guest accompanists, award-winning Scottish harpist and singer Rachel Newton – of The Shee and Furrow Collective fame – went for it wholly alone on 2018’s West, a magically intimate, sparklingly diverse collection of ancient, modern and original material.
