Inspired by the Vardø storm and the 1621 witch trials, Kiran Millwood Hargrave’s The Mercies is a story about how suspicion can twist its way through a community, and a love that may prove as dangerous as it is powerful. The Doll Factory by Elizabeth Macneal is the intoxicating story of a young artist, and the man whose obsession may destroy her world. Menna Van Pragg’s The Sisters Grimm is the story of four daughters born to different mothers on the same day. Having been separated, it is imperative that they find each other once again.
