‘Comann’ translates from the Gaelic as society, community or fellowship: an apt title indeed for Skye trad/EDM fusioneers Niteworks’ biggest and most spectacular headline show to date, featuring material from their rave-reviewed 2018 album Air Fàir An Là, made with top techno producer Alex Smoke. Vocal and instrumental guests include Julie Fowlis, SIAN, Iain Morrison, Deirdre Graham, Kinnaris Quintet, Donald Macdonald and Glenuig icon Allan MacDonald.
Trailblazing Galician singer and multi-instrumentalist Mercedes Peón showcases her stunning 2018 album Deixaas, joined by fellow bravura vocalists Mónica de Nut and Ana García. Aligning bagpipes, hand-percussion and piano with synth and samplers, Peón reinvents tradition amid a welter of rock, electronica and industrial found sounds.
