Coronavirus / COVID-19 Update (Monday 20 April 2020)

The ongoing safety of our audience, supporters, musicians and staff is of the utmost importance to the RSNO. In response to the unprecedented situation created by the Coronavirus (COVID-19), and in line with advice from the Scottish Government, all RSNO public performances and workshops have been cancelled or postponed up to and including Saturday 9 May 2020. We will continue to review this over the coming weeks.

Symphonie fantastique!

Beethoven Symphony No1
Shostakovich Piano Concerto No2
Berlioz Symphonie fantastique

Elim Chan Conductor
Simon Trpčeski Piano
Royal Scottish National Orchestra

Fantastique by name, fantastic by nature! When Hector Berlioz couldn’t win the girl of his dreams he poured all his unrequited passion into this opium-fuelled extravaganza for a super-sized orchestra. His revolutionary work is the perfect partner to Beethoven’s exuberant youthful First Symphony. Elim Chan brings all her energy and flair – and joins the sensational Simon Trpčeski in Shostakovich’s playful Second Piano Concerto
