Dauntlessly defying all expectations of an acoustic duo sound, much-loved Orkney twosome Saltfishforty - Douglas Montgomery and Brian Cromarty, respectively on fiddle/viola and guitar/mandola and vocals - cook up a headily high-octane brew of Orkney tunes laced with country, blues, rock and other diverse flavours, tempered by sublime slow airs and Cromarty’s lyrical balladry.

Multi-award-winning quintet Jamie Smith’s Mabon celebrate two decades in the game with new live album Twenty, charting their evolution from traditional Welsh roots to today’s exhilarating pan-Celtic sound. Centred on singer/accordionist Smith’s original compositions, the band’s richly dynamic arrangements also feature fiddle, guitar, bass and drums. “One of the most entertaining live acts around” (FRUK)
