Sir Tim Waterstone is one of Britain’s most successful businessmen, having built the Waterstones empire, starting with one shop in 1982.

In his evocative memoir, The Face Pressed Against a Window, he explores his formative years at the end of the Second World War, the troubled relationship with his father, and the epiphany he had while studying at Cambridge, which led him to become an entrepreneur and a high street name.
