Armed with bona fide street credibility, having started out busking in Glasgow during 2014’s Commonwealth Games, sizzlingly slick soul/funk octet Tom McGuire & The Brassholes – as the name suggests – match their hot’n’happy horns-led onslaught with equal parts mischievous humour. With McGuire on vocals and guitar, this tighter-than-a-very-tight-thing line-up also features saxophones, trumpet, trombone, keyboards, bass and drums. Following recent singles ‘Ric Flair’ - a paean to the larger-than-life wrestling legend, who claims to have bedded 10,000 women - and ‘The Ballad of MC Sick Boy’, tonight’s show heralds the release of their eponymous debut album.
