Val McDermid has made many appearances at Aye Write over the years, sometimes reading from her latest gripping crime novel other times from her non fiction and last year as the lead singer of The Fun Loving Crime Writers. We’re pleased that she’s agreed to return this year to talk to Janice Forsyth about the books that have most influenced and inspired her. Val grew up in Kirkcaldy, and read English at Oxford University. A journalist, for many years, she published her first novel, Report for Murder, in 1987. She has written almost 40 books and makes regular appearances on TV and Radio.
