wild city: a wandering walk with books mapping wildness in the green howe of Glasgow.

Join The Walking Library on a wander through the green howe (Glasgow). Select a book to share and help create a map of wild nature – sleekit creatures, willow haughs and forceful flowers – on a slow walk from the City Centre to Glasgow Green.

The Walking Library brings walking and books together. Join us on a place-aware wander through the wild city, as we carry our library on a slow walk from the forceful flower (Clyde) to the reedy river (Kelvin). Every book has been suggested by someone as a helpful guide to wild nature, which thrives in the urban landscape. On the walk we will look for sleekit creatures by the forceful flower (Clyde), create maps among the sheaves (Gorbals), and make new place-names that reveal the wild side of the green howe (Glasgow).

The distance is approximately one mile and the walk will last 2 hours maximum. As it is a walking event, please wear suitable clothing and footwear. In the event of sunshine, wear sunscreen and a hat. Book online, or by emailing walkinglibraryuk@gmail.com
