Christmas Concert

Established in 1926, the choir has a reputation of being as one of Britain's premier male choirs. The choir has regularly performed with the London Welsh Male Choir in The Royal Albert Hall, London and is a past winner of choral competitions including the prestigious Welsh Eisteddfod. The choir's varied and extensive repertoire includes music from West End/Broadway shows and "easy listening" numbers, through to oratorio, opera, chamber music, sacred music and, of course, Scottish song and is available on cd and dvd. Our Christmas concert will feature Advent and seasonal carols including Silent Night, Cradle Hymn by Kim Arneson, When a Child is Born and Sleigh Ride with a mix of Male Choral work, songs from the shows and modern ballads. We are delighted to be performing in the new auditorium with our guests the Scottish Baritone Jonathan Kennedy and the violinist Hector Scott, (accompanied by Anna Mavromatidi). 

The choir also has a scholarship scheme to encourage young singers to experience the joy of male choral singing and encourages all men to enjoy the health benefits and fun of singing. For more details check out our website, glasphilmvc.org.uk
