Cancer Support at Macmillan @ Glasgow Libraries

Libraries can help you to help yourself.

By working with NHS and other established health partners like Macmillan, we can provide accredited health information; health signposting and suggested reading lists and programmes which can help you manage many conditions more effectively.

Our pages should not be seen as a replacement for seeking medical assistance when you require it. In Glasgow there are a range of services available to help you get the right medical assistance when you are ill, injured or living with a long term condition. Visit Know Who To Turn To to find out more on the range of services available and how to access them.

Reading has long been recognised as having a positive effect on mental wellbeing and research has shown that reading for as little as 6 minutes a day can reduce stress by 60%. We also promote reading groups, have events and activities as well as friendly staff who can talk to you, and help you find what you need.

All of our libraries are have been awarded the National Autistic Society’s Autism Friendly Award and we provide in dementia friendly environments for our customers.
