  1. A treasure trove with over 1 million objects!

    Glasgow Museums Resource Centre (GMRC) is where we store the museums' collections when they're not on display at our Glasgow Museums venues. GMRC has over 1 million objects under one roof, so there’s something for everyone to enjoy!

  2. Behind The Scenes Tours

    Find the amazing museum collections all stored away waiting to be discovered on this behind the scenes tour. Spend an hour discovering this very special building for yourself and some of the highlights of the one million treasures it holds.

    Every Wednesday and Friday 2.30-3.30pm
    Every Saturday and Sunday 11.30am-12.30pm
    Free. All ages. No booking required

  3. Mini Store Hunters

    On the first Monday of each month, young children can come along and explore the stores, handle objects, and get creative, with a new theme each month!

    First Monday of every month, from 11am-12 noon and 1.30pm-2.30pm & first Friday of every month from 11am-12noon. Free. For ages 2-5 years.

  4. Creative Sundays

    Creative Sundays are fun and informal workshops inspired by the museum collections. Why not come along and try a new craft? No previous experience is needed and all materials are provided! Bring a packed lunch if you like (there is no café facility on site).

    One Sunday per month, 1-4pm. Please check with staff or latest dates.

  5. Wee Creatives

    These playful sessions for little ones take place in our museum stores. Vibrant colours, interesting shapes and surprising stories are sure to keep everyone entertained.

  6. Sketch and De-stress

    Feeling a bit stressed out? Experience the positive effects that drawing can bring with these free monthly sessions. Experiment with new materials and techniques in a relaxing adults-only environment. No experience is necessary and all materials are provided.

  7. Object Viewing Appointment

    Is there an object you would like to see? You can arrange to view objects from the collections located at GMRC. Object viewing requests must be made at least four weeks in advance - email or complete the online request form at

  8. Macmillan Art and Craft Sessions

    Are you affected by cancer or do you know someone who is? These therapeutic craft sessions for adults affected by cancer are inspired by objects from the museum. All materials are provided and no experience is necessary.
