Dippy on Tour for Schools

The Learning team are running 3 workshops for school groups during Dippy on Tour.

  1. Tracks, Trails, Dinosaur Tales is for nursery groups who can dress up in explorer costumes and then go for an interactive tour, learning about the key characteristics of Dippy and other prehistoric creatures. Sessions are £15 for Glasgow nurseries or £17 for nurseries outwith Glasgow.
  2. Fossils of the Dinosaur Age is for Primary 1 – 4  where learners will find out what fossils are and what they can tell us about dinosaurs. It will include dressing up and handling fossils.
  3. To Extinction… and Back? is for older primary pupils when we’ll be exploring the theme of extinction in our session allowing pupils to investigate the natural and man-made causes for species extinction, and conclude with a debate around the theme of species reintroduction.

The RSPB Scotland team at Kelvingrove Museum will also be including a short tour of Dippy as part of two of their workshops – Beginner birds and Urban Ecologists.

These sessions are free for Glasgow primary schools and £45 for schools otuwith Glasgow.
