Euan Miller

Assistant High Performance Hockey Coach

Euan joined the full time coaching team in 2004 having worked as a part time coach at the school since 1999, Euan has a wealth of experience developing players from beginner levels through the long term player development pathway to high performance level.

Having gained a HND in Sports Coaching with Sports Development, Euan completed a BA (Hons) in Sport in the Community and is a SHU Level 2 coach. Currently he is nearing completion in his UKCC level 3 Hockey coaching award.

A former International player at both indoor and outdoor disciplines having participated in the World Cup Qualifier in 2001 and the European Indoor Championships in 2001, Euan dedicated his 22 year playing career to Western Wildcats Hockey Club, enjoying a successful decade within Scottish hockey winning 7 domestic league titles and 8 Scottish Cup trophies and has participated in Europe regularly winning 4 Gold Medals at the European Club Championships B Division, with one of these as player/coach. Euan also participated in the European Hockey League.

Euan is currently the Head of Boys Junior Development at Western Wildcats Hockey Club and works with a variety of age groups from grass roots up to performance level. He was named Scottish Hockey Girls Coach of the year in 2004 and the Scottish Hockey grass roots coach of the year in 2011 and 2013.

Euan enjoys working at the School of Sport and is looking forward to the challenges that lie ahead within the growing programme.
