During Games Time at the Burrell Collection
On Sunday 27 July, the Commonwealth Games Marathon route will run right past the Burrell Collection! The shop, toilets and front doors of the Burrell Collection will be open from 10am and the Museum and Cafe will fully open from 11am. You will be able to purchase water from the shop from 10am.
The park is closed to vehicles until the race is over and there are local road closures in place on Sunday. Please see the Get Ready Glasgow's interactive map for full news. See Map Here
The Burrell Collection is in Pollok Country Park in the south of Glasgow.
Travelling to the Burrell Collection
Access to Pollok Park is available via the Burrell Walkway from Dumbreck Road or from Pollokshaws Road and Corkerhill Road. The Burrell Collection is signposted within the park.
Pollok park forms part of the Glasgow to Irvine and Ardrossan National Cycle Routes (Nos 7 and 75) and has plenty of paths for cycling and exploring. There is bicycle parking available at the Burrell Collection.
The Burrell Collection is in the south side of Glasgow. There is an entrance to Pollok Park on Haggs Road (B768) approximately 2 minutes from Juntion 1 on the M77. You can also access the Burrell from Pollokshaws Rd by exiting the M77 at Junction 2 and continuing along Barrhead Rd to Pollokshaws Rd.
Take either the Barrhead or East Kilbride train from Glasgow Central station and alight at Pollokshaws West station. There are up to 4 trains every hour.
First bus services 34, 57 and 57A run from Glasgow city centre, and stop on Pollokshaws Road, opposite the main entrance to Pollok Country Park.
It takes about ten to fifteen minutes to walk to the Burrell Collection from the entrance to the park, and there are a number of signposts along the way.
