A message from our Chief Executive – Glasgow Life’s new Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Strategy

Dear colleagues

Glasgow Life has a vision and commitment to bring culture and sport to everyone. We play a major role in the life of the city, providing a huge range of services for people living, working, studying in, or visiting Glasgow. The reach and scale of our work means that what we do and how we do it has a big impact on the people that use our services and the city as a whole.

That’s why Glasgow Life’s new Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) Strategy is critical for our success as an organisation. Our Board recently approved this five-year plan, which has been developed by colleagues across our charity.

The strategy is based around four key themes that encompass everything we do as an organisation. It moves us into a more active space; going beyond just compliance to ensure equity and inclusion are embedded throughout our services and committing us to better represent the huge variety of lived experiences in the city.

Given the key roles culture, sport, tourism, and events play in Glasgow and for our continued success, making this happen is vital. No matter what your role is at Glasgow Life, EDI is everyone’s responsibility, and so I would encourage you to take some time to read our new strategy.

Should you have any questions about the strategy and our EDI work, or if you would like more information, please contact equalities@glasgowlife.org.uk.

Thank you

Susan Deighan
