Phase 2, Ward 16, Changing Channels
As part of Glasgow Life’s Creative Communities Artists in Residence programme for Ward 16, Canal, Saffy Setohy and Margaret Kerr delivered Changing Channels, a creative engagement project exploring personal connections to the canal and surrounding areas.
Working with women and school-aged children, the artists facilitated online sessions and distributed activity packs. Participants explored the canal through drawing, photography, writing, walking, object collection, and mindfulness exercises. Cameras included in the packs encouraged participants to document their experiences.
Workshops centred on themes of connection and reflection, encouraging imaginative responses to the local environment. The project culminated in a group exhibition showcasing participants’ creative interpretations of the canal.
