Phase 2, Ward 18, Once Upon A Time
As part of Glasgow Life’s Creative Communities Artists in Residence programme for Ward 18, East Centre, artist and poet Skye Loneragan delivered Once Upon A Time, a creative project exploring our perceptions of time.
Collaborating with artist Stewart Ennis, the project focused on imagination, memory, and how individuals experienced time during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Skye worked with New Scots, English language learners through Cranhill Development Trust, and parents from the Scottish Parent Network. Online workshops encouraged participants to respond to creative prompts, such as photographing their favourite times of day or recording meaningful moments.
These sessions captured reflections on how time felt altered during lockdown, resulting in Once Upon A Time, A Notebook, a booklet featuring creative reflections, photography and poetry. The residency enabled the artists to adapt their socially engaged practice, responding more closely to the participants’ creativity and lived experiences.
