Phase 2, Ward 2, Arden Faery Trail

As part of Glasgow Life’s Creative Communities Artists in Residence programme for Ward 2, Newlands/Auldburn, The Village Storytelling Centre delivered a series of imaginative storytelling and art workshops across the community.

Working with a range of ages, the Centre collaborated with storytellers and community artists to run both online and in-person sessions. One-to-one storytelling phone sessions were delivered with Glenoaks Housing Association, accompanied by creative art packs posted to participants.

Local schools also participated through art packs and storytelling sessions, ensuring access to arts and culture during lockdown periods and beyond.

All groups contributed ideas and content to The Arden Faery Trail, a collaborative installation and performance project inspired by artist Lucas Chih-Peng Kao’s original Faery Trail. Through the workshops, participants engaged in magical thinking and radical imagination, using old maps of Arden, mythical creatures, and creative games to celebrate the local area.
