Phase 3, Ward 23, The Sit Down
As part of Glasgow Life’s Creative Communities Artists in Residence programme for Ward 23, Partick East/Kelvindale, Fiona Miller from Tricky Hat Productions delivered The Sit Down, building on connections established during Phase 2.
This work was delivered as part of Create 4 Glasgow, a participatory art project that built on the legacy of COP26 and gave voice to Glasgow's young people and their environmental priorities.
Fiona collaborated with community brass band Brass Aye? to create a short film reflecting young people’s views on the climate emergency in response to COP26. Throughout the residency, Fiona worked with a wide range of local participants, including intergenerational and community groups, individual residents, artists and musicians.
Live events were held at the Walled Garden at Gartnavel Royal Hospital and Partickhill Bowling Club, celebrating these cherished places with storytelling, music and newly created soundscapes.
The Sit Down was selected as part of DEAR PLANET, the National Theatre of Scotland’s online programme curated especially for COP26.
