Phase 4, North West Community Planning Partnership Area, Round Our Place

As part of the Glasgow Life Creative Communities: Artists in Communities programme in the North West Community Planning Partnership Area, Fiona Miller of Tricky Hat Productions delivered Round Our Place, a sound walk capturing stories of communities across the North West of Glasgow.

Building on previous work developed during Artist in Residence, Fiona collaborated with residents to gather personal reflections on favourite places and experiences of community resilience and protest. She worked closely with grassroots groups, including the Wyndford Residents Union, Friends of the River Kelvin, and Keep the Kibble Free.

Fiona partnered with fellow Glasgow Life artists, including GUIR’s Hammy Sgìth, to create a sound walk to Partick Thistle Football Club and collaborated with Louise Nolan and Saffy Setohy to engage wider local communities.

Two events took place during the UCI Cycling World Championships GO LIVE! programme to celebrate the work created. Water Works at Ha’Penny Bridge House featured songs and stories from Hammy Sgìth and the Protest in Harmony choir. The second event, Round the Green at Partickhill Bowling and Community Club, launched the interactive sound walk, celebrating the community’s voices, creativity, and resilience.
