Call for Artists: Be Part of Glasgow’s Christmas Lights
We’re inviting talented Glasgow-based artists to bring to life a brand-new winter experience in the heart of the city.
To celebrate 850 years of Glasgow, we’re creating a festive Projection and Lighting Trail that will transform the city centre into a magical, illuminated journey.
We’re looking for freelance artists or artist-led collectives based in Glasgow to design four captivating projections to be showcased on Sauchiehall Street, Buchannan Street and Trongate. The works should celebrate the city’s people, places, and stories — past, present, and future.
Your work should bring warmth, community spirit, and cheer, inspiring joy in the people of Glasgow and the many who visit our city over the festive season.
Successful artists will work closely with our appointed lighting company to develop and deliver their ideas.
The deadline for initial proposals is 12 noon, Monday 18 August 2025
